Casey Carlyle (Michelle Trechenberg) is a very smart and talented science student who plans to award scholarships to Harvard University. For the scholarship, Casey should present a personal summer project about physics. Looking at a figure skating competition with his mathematical friend Ann, Casey discovers that his favorite childhood hobby, ice skating, will make a perfect project. She tries to improve her own skating by applying physics and what she has found from seeing other skaters.
He becomes proficient and skips two levels to become a junior skater. He jr skater Gennifer “General Harwood (Hayden Panetier) helps Tiffany Lai (Jocley Lai) and Nikki Fletcher (Kirsten Olson) improve their skating. Torn between Harvard’s dreams and his growing love of skating, Casey has difficulty battling schooling, skating, and a part-time job. Joan Carlyle (Joan Cusack), Mother of Casey, tries to stop Casey from skating due to her academic performance. Meanwhile, tension arose between Casey’s mother and Casey’s coach Tina Harwood (Kim Catroll), who was an abusive former skater.
